This clever idea comes from Andrea Jean Cleaning, who shared a method that turns an ordinary sock into your secret weapon against dusty ceiling fans. I decided to test it myself, and honestly, I was stunned by how effective it was.
First, I tackled the neglected fan in my bedroom — the one collecting months’ worth of dust. I started by removing the light cover to give it a proper wash and reach those grimy spots around the bulbs. Then came the magic move: I grabbed an old sock and sprayed it generously with dusting spray (Andrea makes her own, but any store-bought one works just fine).
Once the sock was nicely dampened, I slipped it over the fan blade and secured it with a couple of clothespins for a tighter grip — just like in the video. Then I slowly slid it down the length of the blade. The dust clung right to the sock instead of falling onto my bed below. One swipe per blade, and they were spotless!
