A group of 23 House Republicans is calling for a new congressional committee to investigate what they describe as “radical left” networks in the wake of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
The effort, led by Rep. Chip Roy, seeks subpoena power to dig into organizations such as Antifa and major left-leaning donors like George Soros. Lawmakers argue the killing is part of a larger trend of political violence targeting conservatives.
Democrats, while condemning the shooting, cautioned against turning the tragedy into a partisan blame game. Authorities have identified 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the suspect in Kirk’s fatal shooting at Utah Valley University.
