I woke up on my birthday expecting at least a “Happy Birthday” from my wife—but she said nothing. Strange, I thought, maybe she’s planning a surprise later.
Then I noticed… no call from my parents. No hugs from my kids. Not even a mention at work. Everyone seemed to have forgotten, and I was starting to feel pretty low.
Finally, my secretary greeted me with a smile and said, “Happy birthday, boss!” She even invited me out for lunch. My spirits lifted—at least someone remembered.
After lunch, she suggested we stop by her place for a drink. When we got there, she disappeared into the bedroom for a moment.
A few minutes later, she came out carrying a birthday cake… and right behind her were my wife, my kids, my parents, my friends, and my coworkers, all shouting:
“SURPRISE!!!”
And there I was, sitting on the sofa—completely naked.
