Pheobe Bishop, 17, has been missing since May 15, 2025, prompting an intensified search by Queensland police. She was last seen at Bundaberg Airport around 8:30 a.m., but failed to check in or board her scheduled flight. At the time, Pheobe was dressed in grey sweatpants and a green tank top, and she was carrying luggage.
Standing about 180 cm tall with long red hair, Pheobe’s sudden and unexplained disappearance has raised suspicions. Police have seized a grey Hyundai ix35 linked to her last known whereabouts. Both the vehicle and her Gin Gin home are now under investigation as crime scenes. Authorities are urging anyone who may have dash cam or CCTV footage from May 15–18 in the Bundaberg or Gin Gin areas to contact them.
The search has since expanded to include Good Night Scrub National Park, with specialist police units combing the area. Some items potentially connected to Pheobe have been located and are now undergoing forensic analysis.
Pheobe’s family is reeling from her disappearance. Her mother, Kylie Johnson, shared her profound anguish and heartbreak. In her final TikTok video, Pheobe hinted at family tensions and a desire to leave home for good.
Witnesses have noted that in the weeks leading up to her disappearance, Pheobe appeared to be in distress, often hungry and facing money troubles. During the investigation, firearms were discovered in the seized Hyundai, and her roommate, Tanika Kristan Bromley, was arrested on separate weapons charges. Another roommate, James Wood, has been interviewed by police but is not considered a suspect.
As the search continues, police are determined to follow every lead and are calling on the public for any information that might help locate Pheobe and bring her home safely.
