A tragic incident unfolded in the Darwin suburb of Nightcliff on Wednesday evening, where a 71-year-old supermarket owner was fatally stabbed after approaching a young man allegedly stealing from his store.The 18-year-old suspect, who was reportedly on bail at the time, was taken into custody in connection with the deadly stabbing. Emergency services responded to reports of the attack at the Territory Friendly Grocer shortly after 5:15pm.According to authorities, the elderly business owner confronted the teenager and requested that the stolen goods be returned to the shelves. The situation escalated, resulting in the fatal attack.
