The nature of her injuries was gruesome: burns, beatings, and physical trauma that left her body a silent testament to her suffering. When authorities found her lifeless body in the family home in Woking, Surrey, they also discovered a chilling letter written by Ufran himself. In it, he confessed to his daughter’s murder, explaining, “I lost it.”
In the wake of Sara’s tragic death, Ufran, his wife, and his brother fled to Pakistan, but justice was pursued relentlessly. After weeks of searching, the trio was apprehended and charged. The details of Sara’s injuries were horrific, with more than 70 injuries discovered on her small body. The pain Sara endured was incomprehensible, and her mother, Olga Domin, expressed deep sorrow in a powerful statement, calling the perpetrators “executioners,” unable to fathom the cruelty they inflicted on her daughter.
While Ufran initially denied responsibility, his trial revealed a shift. In court, he admitted to his role in his daughter’s death, acknowledging, “She died because of me.” On December 17, 2024, Ufran was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 40 years, while his wife, Beinash Batool, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 33 years. Sara’s uncle, Faisal Malik, received 16 years for his part in allowing the abuse to continue.
Behind bars, Ufran’s fate took a dark turn. Known among inmates as a child killer, he became the target of intense hostility from other prisoners. According to prison sources, the news of his crimes spread quickly throughout the facility, and Ufran was soon recognized as one of the most despised individuals within the prison walls. Inmates, especially those with a shared disdain for crimes against children, harbored a deep loathing for him.
The inevitable occurred on New Year’s Day, shortly after Ufran entered HMP Belmarsh, a high-security prison in South London. Two inmates, repulsed by the details of Sara’s abuse, ambushed Ufran in his cell. Armed with a makeshift weapon crafted from a tuna can lid, they violently attacked him, slicing his face and neck. Despite the severity of the assault, Ufran survived, though the injuries left him permanently scarred.
